I saw my first ’06 MINI today at MINI Peabody; a Space Blue MCS with silver roof – the silver is very un-reflective – see the mirror caps:
As always, the color is difficult to capture in a picture; I took some pics from different angles, as well as comparison pics with known colors (British Racing Green, Chili Red); and this close-up of the hood shows the variation in color with different lighting:
Overall, reminiscent of Purple Haze but less red … Chris at MINI Peabody said “less girly”!
Darn I must have walked right by it! Sorry I missed you too today at MOP.
The space blue/silver combination go together well. I would have liked to see it with that new hood stripe.
Nice. I’m still thinking about a silver roof on the ’04 CR MCS.
Darn, I was there today and asked Hratch when they would be getting ’06s in and he thought this weekend. I should have walked the lot. That colour looks nice in your photo.
I like it..! The silver matches the interior silver well (for those of us without a chrome fetish!). I regret not getting the anthracite interior on mine, so maybe I’ll just have to get a silver roof instead. When can we by the Countryman they’re showing at Frankfurt!?
Did they change the headlights AGAIN?
That sure is an itneresting combo. I’m sure it looks better in person.
I don’t think the headlights are different – they are the ’05+ non-Xenons …
I’m not a fan of all the chrome Ian and others like, not putting down just not a fan, but I can see the chrome package going nicely with that silver roof.
I’m loving the silver roof option. It’s hard to tell if this is a blue I like. It was a toss up as to what color I was going to paint my Mini, one option was the Galactic(?) blue that VW makes…then I went with pink.
Happy motoring…you have officially been blogcrashed by another Mini owner.
Wow – you weren’t joking about pink! Looks very nice …
That’s one PINK car! I saw some pics on the Blue Iguana site that had to be your car, right? The only other PINKY I’ve seen was owned by either Penn or Teller the magician.
SPD? I worked at a company in Santa Monica Ca called Selbert Perkins Design. Some interesting ramblings on your site.
