SuperCars – better than MINIs

Sad to say, there really are some cars in the world that are better than MINIs!

This Lamborghini had just arrived at my friend Roberto’s body shop (last year I visited there too and compared GBMINI to a Ferrari). Interestingly there is a (tenous) link between my MINI and this Lamborghini – the Lamborghini dealership is owned by the same group that owns MINI Peabody

Inside there were a number of Ferraris being worked on, including an Enzo, and a more traditional Dino Ferrari, with a couple of other Ferraris filling the shop floor space!

But I think the Lamborghini looks much better than any of the Ferraris 🙂

  1. As much as I love the Modena or F430, I have to agree…if I had all the money in the world, I’d take the Gallardo hands down! There is black one that I see all the time around here in Maine, but the orange is a much better colour…either that or the green. I had an orange one fly by me on the way to the Canadian GP this year…loved that car!

  2. Oh yeah? How do they handle a trip for groceries or home depot? The mini beats them hands down. 🙂

I’m don’t like the look of lambos and not so crazy about modern ferraris either. I’ll take a Ford GT please.

Sadly his site has no photos in its gallery. He could use a site developer. 😉

  3. While living in Italy in the 60’s, I happened upon a shiny red Ferrari 275 GTB parked in front of a hotel on the Via Veneto in Rome. It was one of the most beautiful cars I had ever seen in my life. I was awestruck! So much so that I spent about 2.5 hours waiting to see if it’s owner would appear.

I was noticed by a Carabiniere on duty guarding the comings and goings of the high-class guests at the hotel and he asked me what I was waiting for. I explained, in fractured Italian, that I had just fallen in love with the Ferrari and I had been waiting to talk to the owner. He broadly smiled and told me that I would not be able to speak with the owner but that he would give the owner a message if I cared to write something down. I scribbled my name, address and phone number in Rome with the words “You have the most beautiful car I have ever seen…would like to talk.” The officer took my note and gave me a wink as he held it up between us. I returned to the real world as caught the bus back to my apartment.

Five years later, after memories of this event were fading, I received a letter in a mailer from the American Embassy in Rome. It was a plain envelope adressed to my old Rome apartment. I opened the it and pulled out a small parchment notecard. Written in lavender ink were the words “Thank you.” It was signed “Nancy Sinatra”.

    THeo

  4. I’m with the Ferrari folk on this one. 275 GTB, Enzo and so on are the most beautiful cars ever. I also would love to have the new Ford GT and in a test I saw on some TV show it did better than the Enzo or Porsche 911 Carrera.

But I gotta say for the money my MCS is just fine thank you.

    Thanks for the pics Ian.

That GTB was made for driv’n and one of these days that GTB is gonna drive all over you. dadadumta dadadumta let’s drive.
