Sometimes it is the silly things that give the most pleasure … tonights weather for example:

Very wet roads tonight, and lots of cars going much too slowly … so I head off to pick up Thai for dinner, via the two route 128 rotaries (not via the more direct route that Google Maps suggests).
A nice 3/4 left round the first rotary, then a blast along the straight to the second, half way round that and down the hill to the lights & STOP at the bottom. Passing everything on the way and loving the fact that my car/tires holds tight to the road, Xenon headlight visibilty is great, my sound system plays great entertaining music … everything is just EXCELLENT π
So after picking up dinner, I U-turn and head home the same, longer, way π
I hate mine. It’s broken again…supercharger belt or something along those lines, and now my door doesn’t unlock when I pull on the handle anymore. I have to hit the unlock toggle…and my car was just in a few weeks ago and I dropped $850 on the scheduled service, and some other things that needed to be fixed at 51,500 miles.
Keep it up Ian and you’ll be at 100k before you know it π
Great title Ian…and aint it the truth!
I constantly say to my brother & father that “I love my car”…they’ve heard it so much that now they just roll their eyes.
Anyway, I love it even more as of Thursday night…some idiot crossed into my lane and basically ran me off the road. Had it not been for the quick steering of the car I’m absolutely convinced I would have hit the person head on. Closest call I’ve ever had and quite frankly it freaked me out a little.
Very glad to hear that you – and your car – are OK! In a situation like that, the MINI not only performs well, but gives you the confidence to react, knowing that it will perform how you need.
