This years MINIsOnTop was a fabulous and very successful event – I think we successfully resolved all the previous years glitches, and the weather cooperated almost perfectly too!
Our “headquarters hotel”, the Town & Country Inn, gave us a great room for Friday night and we laid out the many donated prizes for people to see, then ran the Trivia Contest … many many thanks again to all our sponsors, and to Libby & Bill for another successful Trivia night:
Saturday morning, greeted by perfect weather, everyone heads over to the Loon Mountain parking lot; thanks to great volunteer parking coordination, everyone fits! Richard once again gives the “drive safe” driver speech, to which everyone listens (though apparently a couple of people don’t hear the words!) and then they all head off, on one of three routes:
Arriving at the base of Mount Washington where the weather is still great, we organized parking, food (eeding 400 people in 40 minutes!), and drawing of the two major raffle prizes – with an unexpected additional auction for the JCW since the ticket winner (me!) couldn’t use it! Also drawings for the many door prizes, and then we finally send all the cars to the top of Mount Washington, the only place where the weather is less than perfect
That last picture is the “yellow hat” MINIsOnTop volunteers group pic right at the top of the mountain.
And finally, MOT2006 comes to an end … with 250 MINIs and 500 very happy MINI folks 🙂
