Sadly, another great MINI friend passed away overnight: Dan McDonald.
The title might seem strange for such a sad day, but Dan was a happy-go-lucky guy who loved MINIs and his MINI friends, regularly joined MINI events and was always ready to help – and he always signed his emails with “Have A Great Day”.
The first time I met Dan, at MINIsOnTop 2003; since then I’ve seen him on many MINI events and always enjoyed his company …

Thank you Ian for posting this. We all grew to love Dan here at MINI of Peabody. Dan ALWAYS visited us with gifts in hand, and made a point to shake everyones hand and call them by name. I remember my first week at MINI of Peabody, Dan introduced himself to me and welcomed me into the MINI community. We are going to miss him here! We’re all sad to hear the news. Point well made Ian – Dan was always a happy-go-lucky guy; and certainly always brightened our days here.

Truly sad news. Dan was the first person I met getting out of my MINI, at my first MoT, and he was a remarkable person. As you say, a happy-go-lucky guy and exemplified the MINI community and spirit. A sad week overall…
