I’m happy to report that I once more have two MINIs, and both are “clear bra” protected again … GPMINI had to go back to Sublime Restorations to have the hood re-done because the GP hood scoop decal was not properly fitted … and GBMINI#6 had to make two trips to get it’s removed clear bra put back on.

In the end, I was pleased with how the clear bra re-installation was handled by Herb Chambers MINI. They organized for me to have the work done at closer-to-me Herb Chambers Dodge; the service managers there looked after my car and me very well, and promptly called to let me know when the work was done. Unfortunately the work needed two trips because the hood protection piece was damaged on the first visit – but the final work is well done and (on the Dark Silver) hard to see the edges:

Are clear bra installs common practice during the winter months? I guess the installer applied it indoors with the heater blasting.
I think I have the same ones as you do judging by where the film ends at the top of the scoop. Be careful though, I got a couple of tiny chips above the film.
I’ve had chips way up on the hood almost to the windshield – but GPMINI got quite chipped coming home during MTTS, so I’ve been converted back to thinking the protection is worthwhile, so long as it’s well installed and doesn’t show too much.
Do the clear bras work well with the stripes? I’m just wondering if it will not laminate as well over those.
I think it would be OK – on GPMINI it goes over the hood scoop decal.
I will be installing a FULL and I mean a FULL clearbra on my upcoming Clubman. The whole entire hood will be covered in the clear material.
That’s a challenging install with all the curves on the hood – hope it goes well!
