Just heard that Mark Ferguson has sold NorthAmericanMotoring, similar to Paul Mullett selling MINI2 last year!
Hopefully, it won’t make any difference to the active MINI community on NAM … there was an amazing amount of discussion just recently on MINI2, following some sort of vendor posting rule changes which caused famous MikeyTheMINI / NewMINIstuff to consider leaving MINI2, but happily and impressively, the “voice of the community” resulted in policy changes that allowed Mikey to stay.
The problem with selling the MINI community forums seems to be that the new owners are not “rabid / fanatic” MINI owners, and don’t understand how things have worked on the forum prior to the sale; then they might make some changes, which – rather like the R56 changes to our favourite MINI – are seen in a negative way by many in the community.
The solution for MINI2 seems to have been to allow the moderators to call the shots – since generally they have been around for as long as the forum, and have a better understanding of how things work well.
Let’s hope that a similar “hands off” approach is used for NAM …

Oh, is THAT why they locked my thread about the new MINI of Peabody site on MINI2?
The moderator gave me a nice explanation, but I remember being able to post about our website updates before.
It’s weird though, because they told me I couldn’t post about upcoming events if I used the terms ‘MINI Peabody’ in the subject, yet I noticed that PaulT did it and it got stickied.
not really my department anymore. Paul’s doing a fine job of keeping you guys informed on the site anyway.
I hope Mark does well and that MITM will be as great as it was this last year. June 1 I will be registering for that event. MOTD too far away, milage wise, for me to care about.
