Failed!

So I did the “good” thing today, left the group and headed quickly to Sturbridge to get a new MA inspection sticker for GPMINI before the place closed … And failed!

Apparently the MINI dealership sold license plate frame illegally covers the MA plate – just like it did in 2006/2007 when I had no issues; and of course bought the frame in a MA dealership!

What Massachusetts bullshit 😦

So now I have a nice red “R” sticker that matches GPMINIs mirror caps πŸ˜‰

  1. The same “story” I got when I went to get mine done first at the place by work.
Actually the new regulation that went into effect simply states that the plate must be readable from 50 feet, it does not actually say nothing can be in the way of it, so technically you could fight them, though I’m sure it’s not worth your trip back. Of course most places would simply have let you remove the cover before they proceeded.

  2. That regulation has been around for a long time, just recently has it been enforced.Nothing can be covered on the plate. All wording must be visible. At least we give our customers the option,we will remove the plate frame for them or issue a rejection sticker..

  3. Arizona just started a similiar law this year. It serves only to boost the coffers of the state, nothing else.

I’m with you. Total bullshit! πŸ™‚
