Orlando MINI F56 launch event

Tonight we drove to Orlando MINI for their F56 launch event, and Black Knight’s first “MINI meet” – sort of, at least, since there wasn’t any actual driving.

Black Knight got wet on the way there, too – and didn’t come home (I’m getting satellite radio installed):

The F56 launch event itself an assortment of the new MINIs visible, including this quite good looking Spice Orange:

In general, the F56 looked very MINI like with few downsides – though the “fall apart when pulled” door handles are strange!

Meanwhile, it was great to meet MINI friends (James, Lori, Andrea, Troy – and others whose name I don’t know), and enjoy the desserts:

Special thanks too to Greg, my Motoring Advisor, that organized booking my MINI in to get satellite radio installed – and presented a gift of a neat Tshirt:

  1. That shirt is the one given to me 🙂
There were perhaps 20 people there while we were there, but “non-MINIac” folks were coming and going throughout the evening, so no doubt there were more in total.
Greg said he’d sold three F56’s today!

  2. Did they offer test drives? MOP’s event was tonight too but I already sat in the F56 at the car show. Reviews sound like it will drive more like an R53 so I want to get behind the wheel and see.

  3. Great Looking new Black Knight MINI Ian!

I saw the twin at MOP on their Launch Event night. MOP put on quite the show, imitation 1960’s British Rock Band, servings of Fish and Chips, lots of other food items, open bar for beer and soft drinks, deserts, probably over 100 people there, best MOP event I have attended in 10 years! and we bought the 2013 East Coast Channel Islands Surf tour MINI ClubVAN with woodie wrap! One of only 50 in the USA. Yes, the ClubVAN is not as practical as the ClubMAN, but it sure it good looking and rare!

Hope to see you on MTTS. Barb and I are joining in Buffalo

    Dave
