NCL cruise day 3, Roatan

Our first port since leaving USA, we arrive at Roatan (an island of Honduras):

Today we took a trip to an “animal preserve” which had many black Iguanas, and the opportunity for photos with a parrot and a monkey!

Here’s some more photos, of the iguanas as well as the parrots and monkeys (from my Sony camera):

In the evening, after a very good dinner, we enjoyed live music, Glenn Miller style:

NCL cruise day 2, at sea

Today we were “at sea” traveling the nearly 800 miles to our first port; we explored the ship, ate food, sunbathed on our balcony, tried our hot tub …
Still doing my morning walks – quite a lot of sameness walking in circles, but I got to watch some nice at-sea sunrises! Apart from that, the view all day was of the Gulf. No other ships, no land, just water …

NCL cruise day 1, leaving Tampa

Back now from our seven day cruise on the Norwegian Sun, and traveling without internet so I’m going to post “daily updates” now that we are back …

Cruise day one had us driving to Tampa and boarding the ship – our first proper view of it is from the parking garage opposite:

To maximize our enjoyment, we booked a premium suite which turns out to be located right above the bridge – we’ll have great views over the next week; it’s arrowed in the picture above.

We get to our suite while the ship is still in port at Tampa, but the view is good anyway; inside, our suite has three or four rooms; the first has comfortable seating with TV, as well as a dining area, bar, coffee maker; the second room of the suite has a king bed, very comfortable! There’s also a separate closet area, and through that is the bathroom suite with jacuzzi tub, separate shower, and his & hers vanities!

As evening came, we left Tampa and headed out to the Gulf, traveling under the spectacular Skyway bridge at St Petersburg, and enjoying the view from our balcony, we had our first sunset-at-sea to end our day:
