Driving north from the Tetons into Yellowstone National Park, our first stop was the West Thumb hot springs area; no geysers but lots of hot features (nice to get bathed in the steam, as the weather was cold at the beginning of our Yellowstone trip!). The area is against Lake Yellowstone (and sometimes within it!) and gives a nice introduction to geothermal features …
We’ve returned from our big Wyoming vacation with loads of memories – and photos! We started and ended the trip in the Grand Teton National Park, offering incredible mountain views as well as Moose, Elk, rivers and lakes. An amazing, peaceful, beautiful area …
At the end of our trip we stayed in Jackson, and drove our past Kelley to the Gros Ventre Slide area, a landslide nearly 100 years ago blocked a valley and created Slide Lake; interesting here too were red rocks – and of course the distant view of the Tetons, still …
Time for the Winter Garden car show again – not very busy this time (threat of rain put some cars off, maybe); but trying out my new camera which I think did a great job (check out the rainbow limo!):
