First “wax” on GBMINI (Klasse)

Weather was nice enough yesterday to give a first good shine to GBMINI, using Klasse All In One and other products bought from CLASSIC Motoring Accessories; I was reasonably pleased with the shine after two coats of Klasse, but it was not quite the mirror finish I had hoped for:

In close-up there is good reflection, but it has a “mottled” appearance, referred to as like “orange peel” by a friend. Not sure why …

Hopefully we have seen the last of the awful winter, and my car might be able to stay clean between washes now 🙂

Franconia, New Hampshire

Drove to Franconia (New Hampshire) this last weekend for a nice break in a log cabin; we stayed two nights and enjoyed real log fires (and baked potatoes), the sound of the stream, and the quiet – no TV, radio, phone … just each other.
Went into Littleton on Saturday for breakfast;  also toured the Grist Mill. Then drove around in the sunny weather, visiting Franconia Notch and North Woodstock – we will be back there for the Mount Washington MINI run on June 21 if enough people sign up (check out www.MINI2.com).

GBMINI averaged over 31mpg and broke 2000 miles on the way back – would have been even more fuel efficient if I had kept to the speed limits. A thorough wash was needed when we got home! The painted roof looks great clean – reflections that no decal could ever give:
