More Spring Rally pictures

Many of the staff at MINI of Peabody, as well as helping run the event on Sunday, took photos – and they have now been put up on the dealership website. A couple examples here – GBMINI getting his first poker card (from MoP Service Manager Garys son Josh), and  MoP General Sales Manager Paul checking GBMINIs winning poker hand:

MINI of Peabody Spring Rally

Todays MINI of Peabody Spring Rally went well and escaped with minimal poor weather – although the threat apparently kept 1/3 of the sign-ups away! The rest of us had great fun though. The route took MINIs north through Topsfield then east through Ipswich and out to the Atlantic coast, and back, collecting playing cards on the way (click here for the route out and the route back). Unfortunately with no navigator, and being the lead MINI for much of the drive, I only took a few “on route” pictures …

Back at MINI of Peabody, new Sales Manager Paul Taylor greeted returning MINIs and handed out the final playing card to each one; there was also food (with a long but fast moving queue, and excellent catering)

Finally it was prize time – a special prize for Debbie Rose (her birthday brand new MINI was undelayed too late to be delivered today) and everyone else got a prize too. Astonishingly (and not rigged in any way), I came back with a king high full-house which happened to be the winning hand! My prize of a(nother) Spa Detailing of GBMINI will be much appreciated!

Many thanks from me to everyone at MINI of Peabody that put this event on – almost all their staff were in and helping the event run smoothly (which it did), and well done Paul for putting together such a great “welcome” event from you to the MINI community 🙂

Crack … Smack … Windshield #2 gone

On my way to work yesterday morning, an annoying slow truck in the fast lane “encouraged” me to get too close to the back of it, and the result was a loud SMACK when a rock from it hit my (almost new) windshield; about 10 minutes later there was a CRACK noise, and a crack appeared just to the lower left on my view through the windshield! By lunchtime, the crack had grown significantly (the tape marks the end of it when I got to work) – but luckily it hasn’t grown much further since then.

From outside, there’s an impressive “starburst” on the windshield – I won’t be able to get this one replaced under warranty!
