Tonight continues with a GP Customer welcome reception & dinner tonight, then the GP delivery “main event” tomorrow!

The following dealer bulletin has some interesting background information about MINI USA GP deliveries, and the special car wash kit (needed because the GP cannot be taken through an auto wash!):

143lbs lighter!

On the Certificate of Origin for GPMINI the “shipped weight” is listed as 2580lbs.
The Certificate of Origin for GBMINI#3 lists “shipped weight” as 2723lbs.

So GPMINI is apparently 143lbs lighter than GBMINI#3!

And this isn’t because GBMINI is heavy either – it doesn’t have a sunroof, and was delivered on light 16″ wheels. However, it’s been pointed out that the auto transmission on GBMINI probably weighs more than a manual transmission – according to MINI USA there is 45lbs increase for the automatic, so that still leaves the GP weighing 98lbs less than a manual MCS.
