The Great Ice Cream Run (Day 0)

As you might notice from the last few “on the road” posts (Wrights, Kline’s, Split Banana), we’ve done really well on Ice-Cream so far, but less well on “The Run” … tomorrow will correct that, but now (subject to Hotel Internet) are a few bonus pictures from this evenings Staunton Ice-Cream-Fest!

Ice-Cream at Wright’s Dairy Rite (“Wright’s Wheelie”), and a “Dogzilla” too:

GPMINI with Corvettes, and the “Pepper White brigade”:

Ice-Cream at Kline’s (Erica claimed she could eat another Chocolate Peanut Butter Ice-Cream – her fourth Ice-Cream of the day!)

And finally, at the Split Banana:

Driving the Blue Ridge Parkway (Day 3)

Today we completed the end of the Blue Ridge Parkway, with 35 MINIs in a tight group, blessed by great weather and little traffic (just a couple of refuse-to-pull-over vehicles near the end of the drive!); many thanks to Margaret for taking pics again 🙂

And then, it was the end of the Blue Ridge Parkway … or maybe, the beginning!

Many thanks to TarHeelMINIs, and most specially to Mark / Twister, for putting on such a great run – fabulous roads, fabulous company, all round excellent 🙂

Driving the Blue Ridge Parkway (Day 2)

Today, a later start (hooray!) and a very windy road to get to the Blue Ridge Parkway (which pretty well used up Margaret’s “twisty” allocation for the day!); soon after reaching the Parkway, we stopped at Moses Cone Manor, an amazing location for someone to put their home (in 3,600 acres!), with views like this!

After this stop, the Blue Ridge Parkway Tour planned a number of other stops, and a longish diversion for lunch – Margaret & I decided instead to drive our own way, getting to Roanoke somewhat earlier than the group and allowing some rest time; so, only GPMINI (and view) pictures …
