Four Red MINIs

This morning I headed in to Boston, to meet up with Mass Motoring Club and a drive organized by Sheena from Boston to IKEA, via Newbury St. MMC are not MINI-specific, so I had no worries turning up in my Q5 – in fact, there was a second Audi there too, driven by Armen! There were also four Red MINIs!


Other commitments prevented me joining the drive all the way down to IKEA, but I did join them along Newbury Street, and took some pics 🙂

New MINI dealerships

Down in Orlando, it seems the local MINI dealership there is on wheels – when GPMINI first headed south the dealership was in one location; earlier this year when GPMINI got serviced, the dealership was brand new and quite close by … now on my latest trip, the dealership has moved AGAIN and is much farther north!

Meanwhile, as we know, MINI of Peabody will be moving at some time; right now, the old “pink elephant” dealership location on route 114 is being rebuilt as the future Acura, which then frees the current Acura location (next door to BMW of Peabody) so that the MINI dealership can be moved … artist impression pictures have been displayed for a long time.
What’s interesting though, is the note about “two dealerships” and another artists impression image; note the name on the sign – MINI of Manchester …

 

It’s clear that MINI USA thinks there’s still lots of sales available for MINI, and they have plans for more dealerships as well as more car designs – but I hope they also have plans to put the “want” back in to the cars, so all these new dealerships don’t have nothing to do!
