After visiting Boone Hall Plantation in Charleston, SC, we drove the final 400 miles back to GPMINI’s “winter home” – now she needs a good wash (and a couple more runflat tires, to complete the set)! The approximately 90 Oak trees along this entry drive to Boone Hall make for an impressive view 🙂
Crossing the Chesapeake Bay
Preferable to a ferry, is the drive over (and under!) the spectacular Chesapeake Bay bridge / tunnel:
Atlantic City to Cape Charles
This morning we drove in to Atlantic City, and parked at the Taj Mahal – Margaret’s always wanted to go there, though it was less serene and Indian than the pictures 😉
We found a safe parking spot for GPMINI:

Later still, we took the Cape May – Lewes ferry across the Delaware Bay, taking us from New Jersey to Delaware; and then short hops to Maryland and in to Virginia, where we’re poised tonight to cross the Chesapeake Bay bridge-tunnel tomorrow …
