1855 miles

Home again, after 1855 miles in 9 easy days, with GPMINI averaging a little less than 30mpg – happy with that!

Don’t know what the Z4 did (Margaret doesn’t track MPG), but similar and perhaps a little better which is impressive considering how much bigger the engine is, and the automatic transmission.

Z4 beats GP!

Today, heading North along the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Z4 had no trouble sticking to the sweeping and tight curves right behind GPMINI – given of course that we stayed close to the 45mph speed limit. And at the first fuel stop where we’ve been able to compare gas consumption, my GP got an excellent (calculated) 30.0mpg, improved due to the lower speeds for 100 miles on the Parkway.
But Margaret’s brand new Z4, driving the same roads at the same speeds, drank a little LESS fuel, giving her car an average of 31.2! Of course, following close to my MINI must have helped 😉
