The New MINI of Peabody

MINIs are small but getting bigger, and now the quite small MINI of Peabody is getting bigger too – the new dealership is located next to BMW of Peabody and has is finally ready for move-in; it should be fully operational by Monday, and I visited today to say “hi” and take some pictures. The new dealership is huge, fabulous, and seems to be really nicely designed both for customers and employees! Upstairs is much bigger, with a comfortable customer waiting area (which was upstairs at the old location), customer kitchen, and room for as many as 7 MINIs, plus up to two delivery cars (the old location could only handle 3+1) …

MINI of Peabody service is now located downstairs with it’s own entrance, and MANY more service bays. Again comfort is important here – the tiled floor is HEATED for optimum winter comfort for the techs!

Other areas of the building include a nice new staff lunch / break room, and a room for the sales staff, as well as separate offices for General Sales Manager Brig, Service Manager Gary, and Parts Manager Scott (thanks, Scott, for the tour!)

I was told that the sales staff (sorry, Motoring Advisors) will be equipped with portable computers, so they can work with customers anywhere in the building – nice touch! But one other very nice touch too is the downstairs game room …

The popular Q5

It’s not just me that’s enjoying the Audi Q5 …
… The August 2010 results were buoyed by the continued extraordinary consumer response by year-over-year sales increases for the Audi Q5 crossover and Audi Q7. For the month, Audi sold 2,675 Q5 vehicles, a 78.8% increase over the 1,496 vehicles sold in August 2009. The Q5 line also enjoyed more than a 25% August 2010 sales jump over July 2010 …
(from autotalk)

Considering the Q5 is priced from about $40,000, these sales compare pretty well with MINI USA 4,425 total of all their vehicles for August – another reason for the Countryman development, no doubt!
