X6 delivery!

Once before Margaret and I visited the BMW Performance Center when her Z4 was delivered, and today we are back, for delivery of my 2025 X6!

We arrived around 8am and by chance spotted the car ready for delivery with sunrise shining all over it:

The day proceeded with being introduced to my new car, setting it up with the “My BMW” app for keyless entry and other features, and of course taking lots of photos …

We also had some fun driving a different X6 on track to experience handling, braking, etc!

At lunch we drove the car out of the delivery area, and after lunch drove over to BMW Zentrum where we had a factory tour (where my X6 was made, along with X3/X4/X5/X7 vehicles); no photos allowed here so there’s just a couple of my new car outside …

X6 preview

We will be getting delivery of my new car this week and tonight the “gallery” in the “My BMW” app opened up with computer generated previews! Until now, right back from when I received my production number back in January, the “gallery” has been filled with “covered up” images, like this one:

But suddenly tonight when I checked, the images had been “uncovered” …

There was also a “drone walkaround” simulation which sadly wasn’t downloadable; I screen-recorded it which is fine other than the || pause symbol present throughout …

“X”change is coming …

And so it begins (again) …

(order details)

UPDATE: on January 8th I got a production number.

UPDATE: on January 31 the car moved to “production begins”!

UPDATE: on February 13 the car moved to entering assembly line (this occurred after I called the BMW Genius hotline this morning, which seems to be a bit of a coincidence – the build status skipped some steps so it appears maybe someone at BMW updated that data today in response to my phone call!

UPDATE: and almost immediately February 14 the car is assembled and ready for transportation!

UPDATE: Today February 24th my X6 shows “at BMW center” – but it’s going to be a few weeks yet till I see it!

Here’s a little comparison chart of the new X6 against my X3:
