Independence

I post quite a few pictures looking out over the wetland behind our home, but here’s the view from the other side, looking towards our home:

Another nest update, and there’s definitely two young Herons in the nest – though one is clearly much smaller so maybe we will again see only one fledge, like last year …

Not that I can determine the sex of Great Blue Herons but I’m assuming that a nesting pair is “Mr & Mrs”! Here they are sort of together, with one on the nest and the other on a nearby branch (no sign of any young, yet):
