The “baby” Great Blue Heron has grown a lot in a month, from a little fluff ball to now almost as big as it’s parent (though, there’s only one baby now). This video shows it pestering a parent for food – sorry it’s poorly lit but the afternoon sun shines right behind the nest!
Paver curves
Today’s wet weather meant an early end to work, but before that maybe half the curve cutting around the pool was completed, as well as finishing laying pavers against the house. More work remains for next week, but the rain is finally leaving us so progress should be quicker now …

Patio pavers and pool coping
The weather has been against us for pool progress this week, with regular afternoon downpours preventing work or threatening to wash away what’s been done! Still, we are seeing progress, with the coping stones all around the pool and hot tub being installed over the last two days:

I still can’t decide if there is a pattern to the pavers, or if it’s just random!
Hopefully the weather will allow more work tomorrow; while many pavers are down now, the rest all require cutting against the curved pool and hot tub, or cutting to fit to the house walls, so I expect slower progress to get the rest done.
