More at Independence

With less than two weeks to closing, today’s visit to our new home has more progress, and confirms still more yet to go … outside we have landscaping now, with grass, bushes and even a few trees! Railings on the front porch finish the front porch quite nicely, too:

Inside, the kitchen island lighting has been moved so that is is ABOVE the island (leaving a couple of holes to be patched), and on the stairs, the final “spindles” are now installed downstairs and up:

In this upstairs picture you can also see all the blue tape, marking where paintwork / trim / etc needs to be tidied, and our master bathroom now has a toilet door that can (just) be opened / closed past the toilet, and crew were installing the pocket doors to the bathroom itself:

Now we can see, and take a shower …

Today’s Independence visit showed a number of smaller changes, with the most significant being that the master bathroom shower glass has now been installed; the electrics are on now too, giving a first view of a lighted kitchen, and outside, there’s tiles down on the front porch:

We went round the house and made a big list of “to do” stuff, which hopefully all will get addressed – with a closing date less than two weeks away now, we need some serious effort from Lennar!

Painted and carpeted

Today’s visit to Independence reveals a fully painted exterior:

Inside, carpeting is now laid everywhere that wasn’t already tiled (mostly, the bedrooms); here’s the carpeted stairs:

Outside at the rear, the land has been leveled ready for landscaping:

We’re definitely expecting now to be moving in within the next month …
