Addition re-construction #6

We have half of new hardwood flooring installed now, with the rest hopefully finished tomorrow! We choose pre-finished solid, to simplify install and minimize mess (and smell), and it looks good:

UPDATE: The living room floor was finished trouble free, and looks great:

In a couple months, it’ll be a different sofa, so the color clash there doesn’t matter – and yes, we still haven’t got the fireplace finished …

Addition re-construction #5

All boxed in now! Sheetrock and cement board hides the chimney …

Tomorrow, the sheetrock gets skim coated, then we need everything tiled; we’re waiting on Tessera to come up with a design. We also need new flooring – you can see that the carpet is gone now, but we’ve still not decided a color / texture for the hardwood floor.

There’s plans too for all new furniture (Boston Interiors maybe), and a cabinet to the right of the fireplace for the stereo equipment … it’s amazing how complex this is getting (and that’s without figuring a new room lighting scheme, new window drapes, etc, etc!)

A day later, it’s all plastered and the construction holes have vanished too!
