Tree trimming

A couple weeks ago, I cut down a tree between our driveway and Joanne & Earle’s house – it overhung the driveway and littered the cars too much; I also took the bottom branch off a tree in our back garden, that was right down to the ground and made mowing the grass quite tricky around it.
That worked so well for mowing, that this past weekend, we took the lowest branches off the fir tree in the front garden, to make it look better and easier to care for, too … here’s “before” and “after” pictures:

I used my Spear & Jackson saw that my Nan & Grandad purchased for me years ago – it still works, and gives me good memories 🙂

Memorial day lunch next door

Pat & Dave invited us over to share lunch with them and their son Michael – Memorial day is a holiday in USA, as well as a time to remember …

Lunch was BBQ style, burgers, hot dogs, steak tips, salad (vegetable and potato style), coleslaw – and some very tasty “chocolate rice krispie” dessert, too 🙂
