About an hour away from our hotel in York, my Mum and Paul now live just outside Scarborough. Although the weather was intermittently wet, we took a drive in to the town and walked around the coast for a while – the North Sea was amazingly flat today!
On our way North from London to York today, we detoured to visit Margaret’s sister Kate, and her healthy looking husband Chris!
Today, our last day in London and at Olympic events, took us to the athletics stadium at Olympic Park. Once again, exceptionally good transport and security, and a spectacular location – though it can be hard to see the different athletics events around the stadium; we had good views of women’s pole vault and steeplechase, less good views of women’s heptathlon long jump and javelin, and men’s 100m heats (which did include Usain Bolt):
