On our walk to Kew Gardens yesterday, we crossed a very empty river Thames – boats (and many others) left high in the mud; but by the time we crossed back, 5 or 6 hours later, the tide had filled the river, and the boats were floating again:
On our walk to Kew Gardens yesterday, we crossed a very empty river Thames – boats (and many others) left high in the mud; but by the time we crossed back, 5 or 6 hours later, the tide had filled the river, and the boats were floating again:
A mile or so walk from our hotel today took us to Kew Gardens, and many impressive views – including the Palm House, built in the mid 1800s, it’s a huge glass house with many huge plants growing within!
Elsewhere, the Pagoda, a Peacock, and quite a climb to the treetop walk, and some very scary views!

For an early walk this morning, I asked the hotel and was recommended to head north under the M4 to Gunnersbury Park; surprised to find such open space so close to the crazy busy London, motorway, etc! Our hotel is near to the tall tower on the right, with the curious top:
