Driving up to Western Massachusetts to meet the Ice Cream Run MINIs, I arrived at a small road where nearly everything was gone – the route of last weeks tornado, and a shocking sight made worse perhaps now that some clearing has occurred so you really see the empty space!
We drove about 400 miles today, up from Washington DC back in to Massachusetts, meeting our first traffic jam (in Baltimore) and our first bad weather – in Springfield, MA where by some great luck we managed to be just minutes ahead of extreme weather, tornadoes, and huge hail!
Meeting our friends Theo and Carol for dinner, we experienced the good side of that weather as it left us, giving a beautiful sunset in Easthampton …
A change from the cloudy, cool, damp days up north – hot and sunny, still almost 90 degrees close to 7pm!
