Winter

We’ve had lots of snow here so far this year, as many pictures on my “2009: A year in pictures” surely demonstrates … but the state is set up to handle it, calling up plow trucks that keep the roads safe, and people that (mostly) know how to handle it.
Some people even enjoy the snow, going skiing and such – Christian’s dog Greta loves it too:

In England though, recent snow has caused major problems – check out pictures at The Independent, including this fun one making a snowman on one of my favorite beaches in Brighton:

… I pass this little shopping square on the way to work every day (“Highwave” is where I get my hair cut) – this view of snow piled up (plowed from the parking lot) is repeated all over the place, at least until the weather is warm enough to get some melting:
