I woke this morning to a foggy view over the wetlands, and grabbed my camera before it all cleared (which half an hour later now, it has):
There’s a pair of Great Blue Herons nesting in the middle of the wetlands behind our new home, and this morning one flew over to a near tree so I grabbed my camera – but as I pressed the shutter, he took off; I got maybe an even better picture!
You can see that the bird is carrying a stick to improve the nest. This seems to be a regular event at the moment – one bird flies away to a tree then returns to the nest after a few minutes, repeatedly …
We’ve had quite a few days of rain recently but it finally is clearing out, and gave us a lovely sunset this evening over the wetlands; we even had a Heron (Stork?) visit, to make the view more beautiful!
