The Underground Salt Museum was another unusual and fabulous place we discovered to visit: down a rather scary / cramped elevator to 650ft underground, then wandering the emptiness where salt had been mined – including a couple of train journeys to see even more. Quite amazing!
We learned about the Oz Museum in Wamega (Kansas) and of course we had to drive there! When we got there, on the other side of the road was a lovely “yellow brick road alley” with murals:
Then crossing back, we explored the Oz Museum with so many artifacts and fascinating stories …

We routed Tulsa today, including visiting a couple of old Route 66 roadside attractions, The Blue Whale Of Catoosa, and Buck Atom’s Cosmic Curios. I purchased a couple of wonderful “sculpture / art” items at Buck Atom’s …
We then headed into the city of Tulsa, and toured the “art deco” district with many splendid buildings – both outside and inside!
