GPMINI paint protection from Sublime Restorations

I picked up GPMINI today, after a week at Sublime Restorations to have “paint protection” installed (stone chip protection); Julian also removed the airbag warnings from the sunvisors (getting ever more difficult to do!), and replaced the stone-chipped windshield (with a PPG version – so I’ll see if it is any different to the factory glass).

Some pics of the paint protection – the hood piece is basically the standard MCS piece but with extra cutting around the GP decal, but the front bumper was all custom cut …

Since I drove to work in GBMINI, then picked up GPMINI, I also had a chance to take pictures of both cars side-by-side:

Another GP Tshirt design

Before Monterey Delivery some GP owners-to-be got together and had “cartoon GP” shirts printed. Now here’s another GP-specific Tshirt design, this time from Dave of SwagHappy:

AnotherGPshirt.jpg

It’s a nice design, a comfortable shirt (Haynes Beefy T); and just like the GP itself it’s limited edition! Dave writes “there will only be 50 copies of this design made, each signed and numbered by the artist” (mine is signed unobtrusively on the back of the Haynes tag, 3/50).

If you’re interested in enhancing your collection of limited edition GP stuff, head over to SwagHappy 🙂

More secrets for MINI owners

The latest edition of Car and Driver magazine carries the second MINI “Secret Black Box” advert (see here for more about the first); the “Super Secret Decoder” can be used to hide all except a few letters in this image, revealing a website – but sorry once again I don’t want to ruin the surprise:

What’s particularly cool this time is that successful sleuthing leads you to the chance to get even more MINI “swag”!
