Iceland 2021 hot springs

There’s a lot of heat under Iceland and it shows itself in some places as hot springs / bubbling mud … we visited a couple of places on our trip, the first is very thick fog!

There’s also places where the heat is converted to a warm “swimming pool”; the famous one being the Blue Lagoon near the international airport (actually waste water from a hydro-thermal electric power station!); we visited there and another place in the north …

Iceland 2021

Back in 2017 we took a trip to Iceland and now with fully vaccinated people allowed to visit, we returned to the country this time with our own plans rather than those of a group tour, and spent a wonderful two weeks visiting! Here first is an assortment of Iceland scenery from our drives (totaling almost 2000 miles) …

Monarch caterpillars

Over the last year Margaret has greatly expanded our back garden with many “Florida native” plants, including a number of milkweed plants that attract Monarch butterflies – and we now see the evidence with lots of leaves eaten, and four or five caterpillars. Not great for the plants, but good for the butterflies!
